All About Me!

Welcome to 3rd grade! I am so excited to be your teacher this year. This will officially be my first year teaching 3rd grade and my 8th year at TES. Since I was six years old, I have wanted to be a teacher. My 2nd-grade teacher shaped that experience for me and the passion to shape the lives of other students grew stronger over the years. I would often play school with invisible students and although it drove my family nuts, it began to shape me as a teacher. I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Early Childhood as well as Special Education. I began with the end in mind, worked hard, stuck to my goal, put first things first, and here I am!
When I am not planning fun and engaging activities for my students, I am spending time with my family. My husband and I, both born and raised in New Orleans, LA have a wonderful blended family of 4 kids. My two stepsons, Vonnie & CJ (20 & 16 years old) currently reside in New Orleans which means we get to travel back home quite often to spend time with them and eat great food :). My daughter, Kennedi (16 years old) is a Timberline graduate and currently an 11th-grade student at GHS. She's currently a member of GHS basketball and track team. Whew!!!! She keeps me busy. I also have a busy 8-year-old who warms my heart. Cailon is a 3rd-grade tiger. He takes swim lessons, plays flag football and basketball. When I am not supporting my kids, I can be found in a quiet place reading. I LOVE to read. Did I tell you, I LOVE to read ;)! I also enjoy football (Saints & LSU Fan), eating, shopping, and traveling. Anyone who knows me will tell you how much I love a great restaurant, especially one near a beach. I also happen to truly love Timberline Elementary where I spend time helping our other highly dedicated teachers reach our goals as a school.
As a leader in me school, my goal is to be 100% dedicated to your success! Together we will learn, explore, and be the B.E.S.T. us possible. My mission is to be as inspiring to each of you as my 2nd-grade teacher was to me! I am looking forward to a wonderful year together and I am happy you have chosen to join our family of amazing Tigers that are leading our future!
