About Ms. Ambalavanar
I was born in Mexico, but I was raised in the United States. I started school in Rockford, Illinois. My family moved to Texas when I was nine and I have lived in Texas ever since. I am presently engaged to be married with no set date. I do not have children, but I am very close to many nieces and nephews and their children as well. I do have a Great Pyrenees dog named Oso that is very loved.
I graduated from in 1989 from Southwest Texas State University, which is now known as Texas State University with a BS in Education. I have been a bilingual teacher for 27 years. I taught in San Antonio ISD, Dallas ISD, Irving ISD and GCISD. I taught at Cannon Elementary for 10 years in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.
This is my second year at Timberline teaching Dual Language first grade and I have truly enjoyed being part of a great team, which includes my amazing grade level team. Timberline is a school that embraces each person that walks through those doors and makes you feel like home. I look forward to working with my students and getting to know their families.
